"Emperor scorpion" is a common name (as opposed to scientific). It usually refers to the species Pandinus imperator. However, two other species are sometimes imported as "Emperor Scorpions" (P. dictator and P. gambiensis). Honestly the care is identical and they are nearly identical looking (even veteran hobbyists would probably need a key or paper detailing identification --which takes a good understanding of scorpion anatomy/nomenclature to use -- to tell the difference so pics wouldn't do much good). Anything sold as an Emperor scorpion is usually believed to be P. imperator, as generally the people who are collecting/exporting them aren't going to be able to (or try to) differentiate between species and the same goes for most people selling them.

Red claw refers to a different animal than Emperor scorpions, and there are noteworthy differences in coloration and temperament with them. Generally red claws are Pandinus cavimanus, though other similar looking Pandinus species may be imported under that name. These can be easily differentiated from P. imperator, the most obvious characteristic being the claws. If you want to look at pictures check out the gallery from the scorpions fileshttp://www.ntnu.no/ub/scorpion-files/. They have an extensive gallery with many species submitted/identified by knowledgeable folks.
