Okay maybe this not may be something to worry about but the past month that I've owned my Emperor. I've been trying to learn and look at his different body gestures.
This one is a new one
Note : I am sure not to stress him out or bother him.
He's been burrowed under a new den for the past week. Hardly ever seen him which I knew was normal so I let him be.
Past two days I've seen him standing out, not hiding but he has this very weird body pose.
I'd like to say his body is lifted as high as he could go, he has his claws forward and his tail up. I consider this a defensive pose. And he just stands there doing nothing, I am always sure to never leave live food in for longer than a day so I dont think there's anything bothering him.
Is this normal behaviour? Could he just be stretching(in a sense) as he was burrowed for the past week.
Or could it indicate a stress based behaviour? I really try not to ever bother him, im sure to give him plenty of darkness and clean water. Im accustomed to seeing him in a more low/relaxed pose but the past two days I've just caught him in this very tall standing pose.
And I do religiously monitor his tank temperature and humidity. He lives in a 40 gallon tank with a generous bunch of jungle mix substrate. He has a cool side and a heated side to choose from. He has about 6 different hiding spots, generous amount of fake plants on the corners and near his hiding areas.

He/she is in a totally new environment and is wary of its new surroundings, nothing to be worried about. In time it will acclimate.

Awesome thank you! That's a relief. Thought I had been missing something that was stressing him out.
