Thanks Cirith. I have always had a fascination with the whole process from laying to hatching. It doesn't even matter what kind of reptile it is either. I always enjoy it. I almost have to force myself to keep from checking on the eggs every five minutes. Heheh. The neat thing about having a few geckos is that there is something happening every week.

Best of luck with those corn snake eggs. I want to see some picks of those babies! :)

Hehe... I'm the same as you there, though I try to limit my checking to two times a day while I also vent the incubator a bit. Since I don't have a camera I'll cheat and show you some pics of an earlier clutch from the same couple, I guess that will be close enough ;)

So remember, these arn't the corns out of the current eggs but they're from the same couple, a few years earlier. They obviously look the same as "mine" though. :)

Well, a few days ago I saw the first broken eggshell. It was a big surprise since none of the corn eggs had shown any denting prior to breaking open! (Normally the eggs would cave in a little 1-2 weeks before the snakes hatch = denting. Maybe the humidity was so high that that never happened: 90%)

Then 2 days ago I saw the first corn sticking it's little snout out... expecting to see denting first I had not prepared any boxes for all the snakes so I had to dash out to the candy store and hope that they still hadn't thrown away that days stack of candy boxes. Luckily I got a hold of 30 so now I have enough boxes for all 25 snakes (two batches this year, one 20, one 5 viable eggs).

Today I've allready housed 2 little corn rascals and GOSH! I had completely forgotten how teeny weeny they are! My 1 year old corn from last year is a monster compared to those guys. He's will soon reach 2ft, wheras the babies remind me more of a childs shoelace! :D

Congratulations. I have some corn eggs cooking too. I believe they are "due" the second week of August.
