I wish my guy would eat frozen. I’ve tried everything. Absolutely refuses. It’s annoying and inconvenient going to get live feeders. I asked the sellers, and he was raised on live.
Ball python?

I just hate feeding the snakes. Nasty process whether you do live or frozen (I do frozen because all mine take it, and I'm not a neanderthal that needs to see an animal suffer)

Male, banana ball python. He’ll sniff, he’ll attempt to bite, then ultimately lose interest. I’ve heard gently trying to pry mouth open, but I’m not going to risk injuring his jaw for his preference.

Trust me. I would love to do frozen. During height of Covid, it was a pain to feed him regularly. Couldn’t just make it easy on me and allow me to load up on frozen mice.

You can try frozen mice because balls supposedly like them better. Not forever but just transitioning. Also, rubbing the rat on a mouse to get the scent could help. I know a big thing is making sure the temperature of the feeder is warm enough. I had trouble transitioning my girl from live mice to frozen rats but now she strikes in under 5 seconds each time

I think reptilinks makes the juice for picky snakes now you can try it or they make the sausage with the rats they eat in Africa. I never tried it but it worked for snake discovery.

Ive tried heating them to the right temps. Moving them like live prey. Temp changes to increase appetite. Less frequent feedings to increase appetite etc.. like I mentioned, he’ll show interest, then eventually discard. Frustrating. But I’ll have to create another thread because I’m hijaking op’s thread now ha.
