for some odd reason, at least once or twice a month, im struck with dreams of tarantulas!
unfortunately theyre never the good kind and i always dream of situations where one gets loose or tries to attack me. even recently i had one about a b. emilia that was "jumping" (yes jumping, and a very intimidating height to boot!) and trying to attack me.
i wonder if any other keepers have this? o:

Haha, Sounds like you had a bad trip to me :p:D
it was pretty bad! the t kept chasing after me and no matter where i went, she followed while jumping! for a while the dreams about angry and loose t's were so frequent i felt as if i were beginning to develope a bit of arachnophobia myself. once i got into tarantula keeping again, the fear thankfully subsided and i was able to enjoy the hobby as i had before.

I'm not sure why, but I have the same recurring dream. You know how dreams make no sense in retrospect? Well, I get the great idea that housing my C. cyaneopubescens and some other spider together would be a great idea. Then, in the dream, I realize that it was a terrible idea after the rehouse has already been done. Very stressful dream, indeed.

oh wow, that does sound super stressful! do you ever find out the after math of housing the two together?

I keep having dreams that my tarantulas are eating each other because I figured it was okay to put them in the same cage.
The same dream 3-4 times a year.

I've had tarantula dreams a couple times but it was e collecting some wild specimens and not frightening at all the funny part is I would walk right out my front door and start searching for burrows which doesnt make any sence because i live in Nebraska and there aren't any tarantulas here but who knows with global warming maybe my kids or grand kids will be witness to the great tarantula migration :D

I had a dream last night that a bunch of crickets escaped and started breeding in the corner of my room in the wall. They became such a pain I starved my tarantulas then released them into the wall to kill them all. When retrieving them I got bit by my Acanthoscurria geniculata which had doubled in size from eating so much. Attached to my finger I moved her back into her enclosure and put all my others back without being bit. My mum then had a go at me for letting the crickets escape and that was that.

I've had a couple Tarantula related dreams and many true spider related dreams over the years. Usually negative though, like I have an orb weaver crawling up a web attached to my hand towards me and I'm terrified but cannot shake it off. Stuff like that.
I am superstitious so whenever I have a spider related dreams that is negative like that I check on my Tarantulas and other invertebrates to make sure everyone is okay. I get these feelings that bad dreams are foreshadowing bad events to come so I kind of panic.
They've always been okay though, thankfully.

Well then, you shouldn't watch the 1960's movie 'Tarantula'. You won't be able to sleep for days.

I've had several nightmares about my tarantulas over the years, most of them in my first year. They usually only occurred if I had handled a tarantula on my bed or in my bedroom. Then I would dream that I had fallen asleep with them still out and I had rolled over onto them, mortified at their mangled body mashed against my side. I would also dream that my entire collection was suddenly loose, or housed together, and it was a frantic panic trying to find everyone and bring them to safety. I stopped handling or rehousing tarantulas anywhere in the bedroom. The same dreams happened to friends that spent the night.

Yet any dream that I've ever had of solifugae has been euphoric and surreal.

I've had a few dreams about them but they are basically about me finding one and I'm like "yay a new T!" Then I wake up and I'm like "this sucks, I thought I got another one..." :meh:

exact same thing. for some reason, my dream self puts two Ts together and realizes later that thats a bad idea and frantically trys to get them apart. or i find rare Ts in my backyard, than loose them, then find them again. my dreams usually happens when im excited about receiving some new slings.

I have dreams where I'm killing all my pets in various ways. I don't know why. Even when I'm looking at some of my pets I get a sudden urge to kill them. It terrifies me.

I've had dreams where I handle my T's recklessly(I actually barely/rarely handle them). No actual problems during the dreams, but I'm still a little shaken when I wake up.
Now,being right in the middle of having my first ever batch of slings mostly transferred to delicups, the last few weeks has been dreams about a sac-full of tiny spiders everywhere, and me having no idea how to handle it.
That one messes with me. I think it's my subconscious, keeping me on my toes.
