Ask the folks at Big Cat Rescue - one of a handful of organizations that does what they can to house a small fraction of the wildcats that end up homeless every year that end up homeless because folks who dont understand them find out they cant deal with them.

To an adult wildcat, an adult human is either competition, threat, or, if the cat is big enough or the human small enough - food

I agree with this as well. But just remember, Roy Horn bonded with his pet tiger and it still tried to take his head off. Even if you subscribe to the theory it was "protecting" him, it still nearly killed him. A small wild cat can inflict tremendous amounts of damage in the blink of an eye.
Forget for a minute the debate about what S+R's cat was really doing during that incident. Sigfried and Roy have millions upon millions of dollars to devote to breeding and selecting these animals over and thru many generations. Their experiences and capabilities might apply to another half dozen people in the world somewhere.

It's kinda like this. I saw an act one time where this guy could smoke cigarettes with his feet. So, based on that, do we accept as "fact" that human beings can smoke with their feet?

In other words, the fact that one time somewhere one wildcat bonded to one human doesnt mean that wildcats bond -

These are pure savanah and run between 3-5thousand so if the cat u saw was a savanah and they have paperwork saying so I would buy her/him. As a matter of fact I am looking to buy one right now so if you do not want her /him then it would be worth the plane ticket for me to come get it!{D

Its in a pet store. :wall: One that didn't even know the breed. You just don't go to pet stores if you're looking for quality, you go to responsible breeders. The likelihood of it being a well bred savannah (if one at all, sounds like a Bengal) are virtually non-existant because pet stores don't give a hoot about where they source their animals as long as it's cheap, and no responsible breeder is going to sell their animal (esp. such a valuable one) through a pet store where it just gets shipped off to whoever can wave the money as opposed to a screened quality home.

Yup, you can ask me anything you want ;). I haven't been there in a while though. It was still Wildlife on Easy St. when I was there.

And what you said to the max. The majority of people selling these hybrids want one thing: Money. I recently saw a Pallas Cat for sale with "excellent stock for hybridizing with domestic cats" in the sales description. This is indicative of someone who is anything but a cat lover.

And I am not positive but I think they are endangered as well.
i think they're considered some sort of borderline endangered species. zoos have put them down when they can't relocate them, so i can't imagine they're very protected.

either way, i love the little guys. :(
