Fresh water tanks look so...so...so overcrowded for som reason!
No one talk about the shark, it was just a baby.

Out of curiosity was it a bamboo shark or similar species? Some dwarf sharks can be kept without too much hassle in the hobbyist aquarium.

Yes the Jewels have bred. My problem is usually that my fish breed too much  That flame gourami was the third generation down from the original pair I added to that planted tank.

All planted tanks are lit with compact flourescent daylight tubes.
The large display tanks have 10,000K compact flourescents, and the fry and growout tanks have standard flourescent daylight tubes from the hardware store...

I used to have about 6 freshwater tanks from 20-90 gallons. I think I've owned almost every type of freshwater fish available in the pet trade. Out of all the fish, I liked cichlids best, and I'm hoping next year to start a new cichlid tank.

My husband kept brackish tanks--he specialized in puffers. I will admit those puffers are intelligent. When he went away on vacation, they wouldn't eat for me, but as soon as he got home, they ate as if they were starving!

Holy crap those are some awesome cichlids! Loving the Cuban and Motaguense and Trimac and Festae!!

Why didn't you keep them as well as your spiders?
thanks! honestly, i just got tired of cleaning the tanks  . the 600g would take me 2 hours to get cleaned up...all in all cleaning the fish tanks was an all day event  . the spiders are just so much easier, and take up less space, not to mention cheaper as far as energy consumption goes!

i am planning on setting up a 125g though for another pair of trimacs, they are awsome

Why yes, it was a brown bamded cat(or bamboo) shark, Chiloscyllium punctatum.

you do know even the smallest shark , including cat sharks , get over 3 feet ? Pretty much everyone that sells them online recommends a minimum tank size of 180 gallon tank or larger .Personaly I wouldn't put one in anything smaller then a 1000 gallon tank .

Definitely. I was just saying the hobbyist with enough money could house them. Most sharks likely suffer a long term slow death in captivity though.
