I've been contemplating getting one of these, but information on this species is pretty sparse. What have your experiences been with this species in terms of care and behavior?

Haven't kept this one yet- but it's an Asian arboreal so it's a very spicy species, medically significant venom FYI, documented in the literature.

If you are looking for a display T, this isn't your species, they are quite secretive based on what owners told me.

Been in the hobby a long time relatively, there are quite a few people who have posted about them over time- google is your friend.

The nice thing about them, they are sexually dimorphic.

What I have heard about them reminds me of the violaceopes specimens that I have raised, both in disposition, speed, size and growth rate.

I don't recall if they are as photosensitive as violaceopes, but if I had to guess, I would say yes most likely.

Definitely a beautiful but advanced species.

I raised a male to maturity and currently have an adult female.

Care is the same as any other Asian arboreal species (well ventilated enclosure, good amount of moist sub, angled cork tube/flat with plenty of low level plant cover around it, and a water dish).

They are very reclusive (although I do see my female out now and again) and extremely defensive, literally their first reaction to anything that isn't food is to throw up threat postures and slap the bejesus out of stuff.

They're sexually dimorphic as juveniles, males turn light brown at a little over 2" whereas females retain their darker colouration.
