Do they sleep?

I was wondering, and this may be a stupid question, but do they sleep? My rosehair likes to totally stretch out in her cage during the day, and it's kinda weird looking but she looks like she must be comfortable. What is she really doing?
It's kinda hard to see in this pic... but here she is...

I think they sleep.
At least the Tarantula sleep, whatever that is.
Have you ever prodded your T, trying to get it to move, and it just sits there. Then all of a sudden it springs to life, like it was asleep.
I wonder what Tarantula's dream about?

Yeah sometimes I lightly blow on her or open the cage, and that usually is enough to startle her.. she jumps up and kinda runs away.

Tarantulas and/or spiders do not sleep they just go through long periods of time where they are inactive.

Ok,
I believe you, but how do you know this? Did someone do a study, write a paper?

I read it in a book I don't know why or anything like that.

My 4" female rosehair does the EXACT SAME thing fairly often, she can't get enough.

Hi,

when did your spiders molt last ?
Mine always do this the days after a molt.
My theory is that they do this in order to
increase their surface which involves that
they "dry" faster. I might be wrong, perhaps
it's just some kind of gymnastic or stretching.

Some of you might have heard of that
from their biology lessons :D

Time to go to bed now...
