Hey all today I acquired a female 5" p.fasciata. It looks very similar to my p.regalis's markings. I will post pics tomorrow but would like pics of how to differentiate the two species. Thanks in advance

If you look on the underside of their abdomen, the P. regalis has a white band. It's pretty hard to miss. :p

Besides the lack of a pale belly band (which young regalis don't have), fasciata have the thinnest black bands under the front legs of all the Poecilotheria.

Check for the pale band on the underside of the abdomen, only regalis have this band

Technically, the only Poec in captivity that has a belly band is regalsi. Rajaei also does.

Named my new girl Majestic. She deserves this name. So much more white colours compared to my now seemingly dull male P.Regalis. I got the petshop to oreder a female regalis and a younger male fasciata. Maybe they are not as scary after all but they are still fast and respect is received from me al the time. My big 5'' girl is lazy always lazing around in the hide. Thanks for your replies. I got another question. How big are your communal set ups? How many couples can i put into a 20gallon tanks? And when you got your first pokie was it also this addictive for you to continuosly buy new ones?

Get more experience before dabbling in communals, IMO

Or pairing, for that matter.

+1. That's all a beginner needs is for a cageful of adult Poecilotheria to panic and all race out of the cage at the same time, in different directions.
