Hi, I created an informational video about my Ceratogyrus marshalli. Nothing too in-depth, but I think it would help someone that might be interested in owning one themselves.

Let me know what you think about it!

Not bad, but it absolutely sounds like you're getting 100% of your information from a Wikipedia entry. Make it more of your own, don't do something that I could find with ten minutes of research.

Also, as a side, sixteen centimeters DLS? Might want to double check that. Going back to the Wikipedia entry.

I actually didn't use a wiki, I used a couple of different care sheets. I tried to stay away from it, but that is solid advice. I will have to come at it from a different angle. Thank you.

Other than personal experience, where do you normally go to research a new species of tarantula you are interested in? Asking for a friend.

It's often easier to research a genus rather than a specific species. The information may not be as precise, but there is a lot more of it. Concerning using this site as reference, just type your search query into Google along with "site:arachnoboards.com" (omitting the quotes, of course). That'll only return results from this site.

Be sure you read up on the B. hamorii/smithi/annitha revision. That will be a huge deal, I'm still seeing classified ads reading "B. hamorii/smithi for sale!" which makes absolutely no sense. The paper is available for free, I'd suggest hunting it down.

Some things were off...like the mention of humidity...they like it dry. Looked like it needed more sub and less hide....and well, they actually do tend to be a very visible fossorial species. Mine never hid/hide once they get a little size. And it would be worth noting that males don't really get horns.

Interesting, thank you for the input! I have learned that some if given a decent size hide, will hide and vice versa. Granted I have heard this about a different genus as well. Like ones that burrow, if not given enough to burrow they will act differently of course. Mine enjoys hiding all the time, maybe if I take the hide away it wont have the option.

I think I know how I am going to go forward with my Did You Know series. If it is okay with the community on here, I will propose a genus (one that I have or able to show off easily) and ask the community if there is anything they would like to contribute. Along with me browsing what has already been posted of course. Then I will gather my new found information and present as Did You Know, mainly showing what I have experienced and learned from the great community on this forum.

What do you think about that?

Using metal to prod your T isn't the smartest thing. A softer material would have been better. Don't want fangs coming off etc.
