Desert hairy, there is a brilliant care sheet for it in the scorpion accounts thread at the top of this forum.

By far the best desert beginner species is a Hadrurus arizonensis(Desert Hairy), on that fact they are prolly the best beginner spieces period. You don't have to worry about humidity and mites etc.. like you do with emperors. I have 1 desert hairy in a 5 gallon tank, they are not known to be communal but i've heard you can keep a few together sucsessfully. Using a bigger tank and keeping plenty of food in there would prolly stop them from eating each other. With that said, I don't know if you would want more than one because they can be quite aggressive. Anytime I stick my hand in mine's tank, he is ready to sting and keeps a good eye on what my hand is doing. Anyways, I think they are a very good watching species. Mine is very active and attacks his prey very aggressivly(sp?)Hope this helps!

Yes, I have a pair of H.arizonensis and they are very interesting, more than other scorpions.

Thanks for the fast reply, and of course I’ll try to buy one as soon as possible.
