Does anyone know where I can get some Desert Locust Schistocerca gregaria? I see that the UK sells them as feeders does anyone in the US? Are there any other locust species that would make a good year round display animal?

Display or feeders?

I know people who use them as feeders but not as display animals in and of themselves. Locusts are pretty close to perfection as far as feeders go. Other locust species include Locusta migratoria and Schistocera paranensis among others. The Locusta migratoria can be kept under heat and light 24/7 for non stop growth and breeding activity.

My feeders are cooler than your pets!

I found a place online that sells feeder grasshoppers. Not sure what species, probably not locusts. I sent them an email asking if they knew what species they are or if they could give me a description. Might be worth checking out. I'll let you know if they respond to my questions.

Forgot to post the link Crayfishshop.com

Edit: I just checked some reviews for this store online and apparently they may no longer be in business, they just still have a website up. :p
