I do intend to buy the enclosure and other supplies long before getting the scorpion. Guess it does indeed give me more time to think on what substrate mix I wanna use, what hides & decor I wanna go for, and what feeder (or feeders) I wanna go for. I also bought 2 books on the subject of scorpion keeping one of which arrived just today (Scorpions + Other Popular Invertebrates by Jerry G. Walls, which is the one that arrived today, & Scorpions (Complete Pet Owner's Manual) by Manny Rubio which is arriving tomorrow). The former is only 88 pgs long and the latter is 112 pgs long, so they're certainly not like The Tarantula Keepers Guide (which is 384 pages, nearly twice as long as the other 2 combined, and absolutely PACKED w/ information regarding the keeping and care of tarantulas) but regardless I still think they could be quite helpful. I also intend to setup the terrarium before buying the scorpion.
The Manny Rubio is one of the best of just two books published on scorpion husbandry. Especially the larger expanded version with the C. gracilis on the cover.

That's good to hear, hopefully I'll like the other one too though. Appears to be decent and got decent reviews. Both of them did. There wasn't a whole lot of books on scorpions on Amazon, but those 2 seemed to be my best bet.

The Jerry Walls one is meh. It does have some great photos it has been years since I flippedd through it or read any of it but I believe it may have some misidentifications and some misinformation.

Is that a C. gracilis on the cover? I'm not sure. I looked up C. gracilis on Google images and it appears some of them are pretty dark, with others being of lighter coloration. The version I got has 112 pages if that helps any. Screenshot_20221228-003058.png

In that case, I'll probably read the Manny Rubio one first.
