Deep enough?

Is this deep enough for an adult female OBT to live in/ make an egg sac in?

Anything else I need to add?

Seems to much for me. I've never had an OBT dig, ever. But if you dig a hole for it, it will live in there.

ohhh ok, thats wierd i was told they are semi burrowers, and the last one i had it stayed in a toilet paper tube 98% of the time wouldnt that count as a burrow?

Mine always burrowed too, even when I gave them a choice to climb. You could leave that much sub in but its not necessary, you could probably use about half that, just give her some nice silk leaves or some kind of hide that it can dig under.

I agree, you could probably get away with about half as much substrate and place a hide in a corner.

all my juvies are semi-burrowers, i would lean a hide up next to the wall. the big female i have just makes a silk tube lining in the leaves.

They will burrow if you give them the chance, but I prefer to give only about an inch or two of substrate and then put some silk leaves in because then it will make a web palace and you can see them slightly easier. They are going to web up whatever you put them in, but I'd rather them web up a plant than the inside of their burrow.

My OBT does nothing BUT burrow. I say make a starter burrow and see how it turns out. It looks good to me.

Ok, so here is what I did I took some out and added Fake leaves. This should do the trick.

That looks good to me but watch out for the decorations near the lid. She may web up around the lid and it can make an escape easier and maintenance harder.

Given the right setup (yours looks good) OBT's sometimes will be semi-arboreal. With a few plants like that, sometimes they'll tend to web up and not burrow down so much. With that setup, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with a burrow and a ton of webbing on the plants. A nice OBT playground. And yes, move the plants away from the lid a bit- you can affix them to the side of the tank w/ some hot glue which will keep the T from rearranging them and provides more support if they decide to go up. Ditto that. I'd reduce the amount of foliage in there by half or maybe just cut it into pieces and arrange it so nothing is really close to the top. Leave some open area in there. It will get pretty full of web over time and maintenance will be easier if you give yourself some room to work. Keep stuff away from the little door in the top.

Other than that it looks good. They like things pretty dry, by the way in case you didn't already know it.
