If you're looking into isopods Aquarimax Pets has a great series of species profiles on Youtube.
Indeed they do. I had stumbled upon his webpage and noticed the same. Thank you for the recommendation. I was starting to think where’s the best place to get them from?! So many options!

I ended up purchasing a starter colony of Cubaris sp. Panda Kings!

I am a very particular guy and ended up going with a more “rare” species. An added bonus was that I found them locally where I currently am in south west Colorado for a great price. I started with 12 of them. They came with springtails as well which was another bonus!

I’m not too worried about the husbandry requirements or the fact that they may be slightly harder to care for than the true beginner species of Isopods due to my extensive experience with reptiles, arachnids, and other exotics nearly my whole life.

I greatly appreciate all the input and dialogue from y’all! Our son is over the moon about them which makes it even more exciting for me.
I will post another thread with pictures of the setup and a few of them.

This is amazing. I am very happy that you were able to find some beautiful isopods. I hope your son enjoys these throughout his life
