Decently priced tarantula enclosure?

Im looking to probably buy a nice arboreal tarantula enclosure for my juvie/subadult p. Regalis once it gets big enough. I would just buy an exo terra, but 200 dollars for an 18x18x24 is way too much. This will be one of my only 4 enclosures, so im willing to spend a little money, just not 200 for some pieces of glass and plastic. Is $200 the going rate for enclosures like this? If so i might just go with a cheeseball container.

You can get your local glass company to cut you some pieces for a fraction of that price, most will even drill ventilation holes/slots for you. Silicone them together with RTV108 silicone.

I made this tank for a chameleon, not an aboreal T but it could be used for a T with just a few minor modifications. The entire thing with plants, stone, substrate, glass cost me $65.00 US. The tank took about 2 hours to assemble and 48 hours for the silicone to fully cure. There was no glass drilling needed.

The perforated 'door' slides up and down and was made by just siliconing the book report sliding bars to the glass.

The front faces the window so this little guy can get full sun into his environment from the window, something a T wouldn't need. Looks nice from the front!

I own one atm. Doesnt feel right confining an animal to its own dls in square floorspace

Then get the Exo Terra 12x12x18. I feel the 18x18 is unneeded and extra large. I don't see too many people, especially on here, housing T's in 18x18.

You could always try converting a fish tank you can get a ready made acrylic door on etsy I live in the UK but they come from America so shipping would definitely be cheaper for you as far as I know they just silicone in they are about £30/40 depending on size vents ect so would be maybe $40-55 then your silicone aquarium safe of course n can pic tanks up second had quite cheap , or as has been suggested you could build your own tank glass or acrylic that way its custom to you.

Agreed, I doubt it's hard to manufacture, and the materials don't cost much. Only thing I could think of is that they can't ship them in as big of batches as they can smaller enclosures.

A T can do just fine in an 8x8x12, but when set up right, I would think a somewhat bigger enclosure would be better. I'm starting to agree that an 18 is too big, but something around 12x12x18 sounds more appropriate than an 8x8x12.

Exo Terra mini tall and nano tall are the best options in my opinion. The acrylic in those sizes are like $100-170 and it's ridiculous. $40-80 is great, plus all glass. DIY is cool, but I'm too much of a perfectionist and always second guess my creations.

You can make that. They also sell flat natural cork that fits in it perfectly.

Could you Dm a link? I've seen cork squares but they're usually pretty curved.
