Hobo what is your opinion on giving this T a couple drops of water and placing in an ICU?

I'm trying to help but my experience with sick T's is very limited

Next time you get crickets get a deli cup, a couple pieces of egg carton (2-4 individual pieces should suffice for 30) and throw in a small piece of carrot or something for them to munch on.

This way you don't need to toss all the crickets in the enclosure and you gutload them which is WAY better for the animals you feed.

I had an Avic Avic pass just like this a few months ago. His anus appeared to be blocked, I hadn't noticed until after. He ate fine, I was waiting for a molt. He passed with his legs a little closer to his body. Not a death curl. You can put her in an ICU and try to gently get the blockage off her anus if their truly is one.

Well, I guess i'm going to be waiting until the mourning, if it's like this still i'm going to have to get rid of it :/
I really need someone to tell me how to unblock it if that's the case?

Be gentle and use a moist brush, q-tip, or something gentle, its worth a shot. Its likely too late, and the issue isn't one that can always be solved. I'd wait till morning, then take it from there, but it looks like it may be a goner already, but you never know, a pic doesn't always tell everything.

Yes, moist q-tip, paper towel, or cotton ball. Might as well try. It's hard to tell because substrate clings to it, or their fuzzy bottoms hide it sometimes :/ Sorry your little baby has to go through this. I hope she pulls through.

Incase this does pass, would it be better for me to get a rose hair or obt? I like the obt and rose hair.

Depends on your experience. I would recommend looking into something else also. There are other things too. What about a GBB or a Chaco Golden Knee? There's plenty of other good beginner tarantulas out there? OBTs just aren't good for beginners. Also, get the Tarantula Keepers Guide before a new T :) So you can be more prepared in case something happens to your next fuzzy friend you get! (Not saying some will, and I certainly hope something will not!!) Do lots of research and look into what you might like in a tarantula as in colors and temperments.

What are you doing with an exotic pet if you cannot afford the money to buy a $12-20 dollar book? I'd suggest get some way of earning money as crickets are super cheap and can be kept alive and breed in a simple tupperware container with some carrots for food. Once you do that, you have total control on what to feed your T and this situation would be avoided entirely. Honestly I would have no qualms sending you my copy of the book as you (and your mother) need it way more than I do. But you really need to take control of your pet, I'm assuming you are the one that knows more about it than your mother does.

Also with your experience you are better off with a rose hair as they are hardy and more slow, while the OBT will be very fast and have a nasty bite. Perhaps go read the Tarantulas Keepers Guide before getting anymore spiders, you will be able to better care for your pet in the future.

You should have more experience before you consider an OBT. Get a Grammostola or a Brachypelma.

i'd suggest getting the Tarantula Keeper's Guide and reading it all the way through at least once. then spend a few months reading the various threads on this board. once you've done those things, THEN you might want to start thinking about getting another tarantula.
