As normal, i am in a state of panic. I woke up this morning to the lovely news that the orkin man was in our home. Not only that, he was "putting down chemicals" and i had just got out of the shower (attached bathroom to my room). After a wonderful disscusion with my housemates that pretty much led to the orkin guy learning that i was standing on the 2nd floor butt naked, it sems my house mates didn't want to wait for me to dress before i came downstrairs- (After makeing me look like the biggest idiot possible) to move my parrot, and then they bitched me for takeing to long looking for something. The orkin man was already spraying at the far side of the house; but the dogs are running wild and ingoreing him. I've stock piled my critters in my room and i've got the door firmly shut, and i've moved the t's into the bathroom as there behiend two doors.

As you can guess, i'am QUITE cocerned for my T's, as well as some of my other critters! I had asked my roommates to make me aware before the guy started spraying (edit: To explain, i had asked for at least a weeks notifcation when they were disccusing it. )but it seems i'am not important enough to be given any kind of special consderation.

Is there ANYTHING that i can do? I am debateing rushing all my critters out to the car and stashing them there, but i'am really concerned that brining them downstairs might bring them into contact with the chemicals.

Panic! Any ideas?

After the pesticide drys, it should only effect the insects that cross over the treated area. I highly doubt he 'bombed' your house, but I would keep a cover over all your T's for a bit just in case there is anything in the air. I would be much more worried about your bird. When I did pest control, I would NEVER spray anywhere near a bird. I couldn't begin to tell you all the horror stories I have heard about bug guys killing birds. The best of luck, and remember not to feed ANY house pests to your T's since they most likely have come into contact with the pesticide. That includes any dropped crickets etc. :)

They'll be fine as long as they didn't do the "bug bomb" ... if it's just the stuff they spray along your baseboards, it won't float around and it won't harm your inverts. Orkin comes to our house, and I just tell her not to go into that room, and the bugs have been fine for 2 years with this arrangement. Our Orkin tech loves my bugs, she asks to see them every time she's over... ;)
