D. variegatus Males

I ordered three female variegatus to go with the pair I already have and one came in a male. He's smaller than the one I already have. How competitive, if at all, are the males?

Well I thought these could be kept together? I peaked in and the girls were going at it! I almost separated them. I hope they sort it out OK.
