How large is this specimen? That does not look like a C. albostriatus to me. It appears to be more of a C. vonwirthi to me than a C. albostriatus.

She's roughly around 3+ inches. Dls maybe four.
Not sure what your seeing that makes you wonder that. I'm no expert but this is probably number 300 of this genius I've kept.

LMAO now you have me really curious because they both are really close. I will say the yellow banding on the legs are the same as all the others I've had,but I'm not sure how the c.vonwirthi carries theirs.
These and bunch more were purchased by me through a friend who ordered them from a business. All I 100% know is I was not impressed with the packing.
I also got some chilobrachys haunin adult females and I cannot explain how much fun that was to re-home.
But I'm curious now and really want your insight on this. Very hard for me.to talk about spiders to anyone other than here. So IAM certainly all ears and eyes and thirsting for knowledge.

@l4nsky sorry to bother you but, could you chime in on this? Umm I actually do attempt breeding. No problem in the past with these guys but yeah I'm no expert and umm I'm on full pause now seeing how close they are.

I wish I could, but I know just enough to be dangerous when it comes to Cyriopagopus, especially the C. minax complex. Volker von Wirth does haunt these forums from time to time, maybe he can chime in a bit and give us all an education here on the best ways to visually distinguish C. vonwirthi and C. albostriatus.

Much appreciated. My gut feeling is it's c. Albo. Only because keeping so many that said, that other is so close.
This has me tore up. My full intention was to breed her and I feel like I should slow down and I dunno. The fact they are very similar and me not realizing that is enough to blow the wind out of me.

Haplopelma vonwirthi and Haplopelma albostriatus differ visually mainly in the intensity of the white stripes on the legs. Hapl. albostriatum is also smaller and more slender in adults compared to adult Hapl. vonwirthi from the locus typicus. Taxonomically they are also easily distinguished because the genitalia of the males and the stridulatory organs are very different. Hapl. albostriatum has shorter and fewer stridulatory bristles on the tastercoxa pl.

Extremely thankful for the knowledge. I'm no where near your level but,in a strange way I know exactly what your talking about. Thank you for responding this a note I'll be keeping forever.
