I bought three tarantulas labled H. longipes. So far two have molted and one looks completely different from the other two now. This is the oddly colored one. With flash

Without flash.

This is the other one that has molted.

The third one looks just like this one.

Does anyone have an idea what the first one may be?

I understand female Haplopelma schmidti obtain lengths of 8 inches or so, but I was wondering if the mature males of the species are tiny compared to the females. I'm talking about 3.5 to 4 inches in length. Anyone?

Here's my image since this is an image thread.

So, is this a male schmidti? Or do I have another Haplo here? He's hooked out.

Hi Dave,
To me it looks rather like an Ornithoctonus male and not a Haplopelma at all!Do you have a photo of your spider prior to maturing?
