i've actually gotten in contact with a brit dealer named Ray Gabriel, anyone know him? hopefully i can work something out. this is turning into something of an obsession for me.
as far as shipping goes, does anyone think its viable to ship from europe? i can have it shipped to the east coast...cou*scott*gh and then on to me.

alternatively, is it possible to get in direct contact with people who go out and track the little guys down? i don't necessarily care for WCs, but if i could establish a breeding base....

who knows. this is fun.

Yes, Ray is well known in the UK and is certainly a reputable breeder :)

If you plan to do this, please let me know. I would love helping. We can get several blood lines going and populate the US hobby with them :)

I was thinking along similar lines. It's probably prohibitive for one hobbyist to try and import a species from overseas, but depending on how much stock would need to be purchased and the shipping details, we might be able to actually get something going.

EDIT: whoops, realized that Bryan was referring to importing wild caughts - that would probably add up into the truly obscene fast, I was thinking more along the lines of getting a shipment from this Ray fellow.

it depends. if i could arrange a "piggyback" with an existing importer's shipment, perhaps i could pull something off. i'd of course have to know anyone at all who does this, but i don't let small details get in my way.

Either way is fine by me. I would just like to establish the species in the US. They're too beautiful to go unkept here. If we get a few dedicated breeders here to work with them, we may be able to jump start them in the trade.

If we can get them to the US (WC or CB), I'd like to be among the first to breed them.

i got the emails out and looking. i'll keep all up to date. CM might be right, we may need to pool resources and start a domestic line based on an imported group...
is there a minimum number of individuals necessary to ensure genetic diversity, or is that just some crap i heard on TV? CM? all the other guys who are smarter than me?

EDIT: And girls!
