I need information about this T please:D I really like the look of this one but I would like to know if I'll be dealing with an angel or demon(would explain the color=D )
What kind of habitat/setup does it need?
Is it terrestrial/arboreal?
Temper?
Speed?
Does it web alot or hide?
Fast grower, slow grower?

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Ours is kind of skiddish, but by no means aggressive. It just likes to make sure it keeps it's distance. If I remember correctly, they are moderate growers and it's most certainally not a hateful speed demon bent on revenge like our OBT:D Ours hangs out on top of it's substrate and occasionally on the side of it's container but no burrow for this guy. It does web but not a whole lot...yet, don't know if that will change. That sucker can eat though!!!

Mine is fairly sweet, and will even walk around on my hands and arm for a little while. Depending on how many itchy hairs I feel like dealing with ;) Mostly terrestrial though has most of her enclosure well webbed. Will occasionally give my tweezers a threat posture, but never has me. I found them bather fast growers and almost always hungry. Start showing adult colors about ½". Great species, I love them, even though they are cannibals when it comes to breeding... :( :)

My adult female is rather defensive and puts up a fairly impressive threat display but is quite the looker.

They are, as has been said, nervous and skittish. I have read the occasional report of one that is down right pissy, but most of them just take a run for the hills approach. They do move quickly, but it's nothing an experienced T keeper shouldn't be able to handle - nothing like my P. murinus that likes to shoot up out of its deli cup as if fired from a cannon to land on the floor running in some random direction.

I have two C. fasciatum, a sub adult and a large sling/small juvenile, both raised from little termite sized 1st instars. The older one has always been very secretive and I only rarely see it. The younger one is much more webby but is also visible most of the time.

They are essentially terrestrial and need some sort of a hide. Many are very webby and will finish out your decorating for you. Mine have done very well with shallow, dry substrate and cork bark hides with no need to worry about substrate moisture or humidity (although I do flood the water dish from time to time "just because").

Mine isn't exactly the cutest spider you've ever seen... Mine won't hestitate to bite me (altough she's never had the chance). She's also quite fast, and you can actually hear her walk, very funny. :)

I got mine as a sling and it has been a fast grower. Docile but a good eater. It is a terrestrial and definately likes to dig and plow dirt around. I don't know if they need a lot of humidity because mine will turn over the water dish or fill it with dirt.

I have not seen mine web at all except when molting. Mine does not hide and stays out all day.

I feed mine Crickets and mealworms. They will take down several crickets at once, and they really like those mealworms.

I got mine when it was 2.5" and it is about 3.5". I got it in september( I think) Mine is secretive and likes to flick hairs. but it has never should me it's threat display. I think mine is really fast and I have an usambara and a suntiger, but I have never got them all out for a race so I don't know which one is faster. I keep mine on shallow peatmoss and a hide. I think they are a must for any collection ( if you get a "pretty" one). I paid $50 for mine, I was just told it was a male  :(

Thanks everybody! I really want to add this to my arachnofamily since they are a very nice red. And because they seem to make a wonderful display T that I won't have to dig it out just to see it. I already have a name for it too...., don't laugh.....
no really, don't laugh.... I think it fits

Hehehe!!!!

Oh sorry I was not suppose to laugh, Cute name. Cool T.

Got a little one of these guys a couple months ago @ about 1/4" is now knocking around 1", also picked up a possible Cyclosternum Pentalore or Guatemalan Tigerrump but could just be a Cyclosternum Fasciatum or Costa Rican Tigerrump, a 3-1/2" female. Was told the story of why he thinks it maybe a pentalore but he did not know for sure so he sold them at pretty much the same price as the Fasciatum, anyway they seem pretty docile just a little skittish and for speed I would say they are pretty quick but not to fast. I think you would enjoy one of these guys :D Greg

You diffenantly have all the info you need, but I wanted to add a little. My guy is one of my favorites, I love him like my dog, he is a great eater, always out and active. He is very fast but he calms down really well, after he realizes, that I am to much food to handle, He webs enough to feel food and is a beautiful deep red and black, I recomend this guy to any serious keeper. Best wishes

Just got mine a month ago. Great little spider. Eats voraciously, never hides, attractive, but kind of skittish. Occasionally attempts to throw hairs, but otherwise real neat. About1/4 to 1/2 ".

Mine is awesome, definately in my top 10 favorite Ts so far.:D They don't hide much, eat really well and lay down lots of web. I've held mine before, they aren't bad besides sudden bolts but they are usually short runs till it stops. I say you should definately get one.
