For anyone who has recently purchased a p.met or who is currently selling, do you know on average what the price of 1.5 inch is going for in the states? I’m seeing roughly $130 just looking around. Would you say that’s average?

Yeah I paid $125 for a 1” sling last year and $95 for another this year. So that price sounds about average. After getting two I’d probably just get a different pokie next time

I didn’t want one, but my gf insists we need one. So I’ve never really paid much attention to prices. There is a person selling them locally for $130 and apparently my gf thinks it’s a must have haha.

If it's 130 without shipping, thats not awful. I paid $85 for a 2" because I found someone online who wanted to get rid of theirs. I see them listed for $150 for a 2" from a guy in the next state over from me, and he consistently has good prices. When they were 1-1.5" they were going for $99 though

The shipping was the main thing I was taking into consideration. But since I could get it locally, feel it wasn’t awful overall from what I’ve seen. I know expo prices would be cheaper, and have encouraged her to wait.

Those prices are shocking IMO. Summer before last I turned down an opportunity to buy slings for $30.....I think the 50-70 range is fair, I, personally, wouldn't pay over $50.

Was it a bulk price? Honestly, I have not seen any of them priced below $70.

Good info. I’m going to tell my gf if the seller won’t let it go for $100 then she should hold off. Looking at current prices and what you guys mentioned that’s below the current average and seems fair to me, also considering no shipping costs. Probably end up insulting the seller asking that price, but they’ll survive.

Yeah. Honestly think I might try to talk her out of it the more I sit here and think about it haha. I know with patience and time she could get one cheaper.

rufilata get bigger and are way prettier. Most metallicas when you actually see them aren't that bright

They are not that vibrant unless under light. Time for a new gf with less expectations, just kidding! 🤣

Mine is in premolt, expecting a solid 3”. If I don't see more vibrant coloration I’m calling it a bust for best looking blue T’s. Most of the time it’s a drab blue, gray, brownish appearance until I put light on it.

I haven't bothered with pokies at all because I'm not paying 125$ for a ~1.5" sling. I've seen regalis slings for 115$.

It's all a question of personal taste (like almost everything in life, at the end) so no point for me to suggest a P. ornata (one of my fav. Pokies) or to say that P. metallica are IMO "fashion T's" obviously over priced and overrated. Because, for others, that species may be the 'object' of desire.

Probably I would pay $100 to $130 for a specimen of P. metallica if:

1) Instead of living in Italy, Europe (where prices are nowhere near so high, let alone for so little slings) would had been U.S based.

2) Liked that species.

3) No one else nearby me/online with a better offer.

:)
