Curly hair egg help needed!

Sooo I purchased a Curly Hair from PetSmart and I thought it was a male, yet all the sudden after about 8 days of having it, boom there’s an egg sac. “He” turned out to be “She” and was unknowingly gravid about a week later she abandoned her egg sac and so I’ve tried to incubate them. I’m a first-time tarantula owner, so I’m kinda in over my head. I’m trying to keep the humidity right and the temperature right but I’m unsure of their progress, can anyone give me any pointers or tell me if these eggs look OK??? They all seem uniform, and I removed the darker eggs that looked not viable, but I’m unsure if the white on them is normal or not. When I candled them, I can see things inside so I know at one point they’ve been doing fine, but I’m just really unsure about the white on the eggs. They don’t seem fuzzy and don’t smell so I’m just hoping that it’s just a part of their progress.. You’ll have to wait and see if it’s a phantom sack or a good one.

Petsmart or what I refer to them Petstupid.

They are known for selling wild caught tarantulas. Doesn't mean the one you got is, could of happened by where they received it from. However I'm leaning to WC.

First tarantula and you are dealing with this, sorry it happened to you.

If the eggs are fertile you need to make a decision which is start fishing now to find homes or euthanize the eggs now if possible fertile.

T. albopilosus produce alot of eggs.

If you are up to that kind of challenge then go for it.

You don't have to worry about specific temperature or humidity....it's not a recipe.

The white is the developing spider within....Which can be seen in your pictures.

Just be patient.

Don't worry too much about everything but just make sure it doesn't get too dry where it dries them off. No way to know for sure for now, hopefully everything goes ok for you! It's a whole ton of work once you need to start splitting them up but if you have the time for it, very rewarding in the end.

I definitely am hoping to find amazing homes for them, and am trying my best to give them the best care until then. After doing lots of digging online, I am confident she was WC. Rn I’m trying to maintain humidity levels. Any advice on how to create stable humidity levels would be a huge help if anyone has suggestions!!

Thank you!! I will keep everyone updated! I’ve been trying to prepare individual enclosures for them so I’m not taken by surprise when the day comes. I’m still sifting through my Wolf Spider’s enclosures for her babies currently as well lol so far I have 12 out of maybe 100. But the ones I have been able to separate have already been feeding off the fruit flies and the water soaked q-tips I gave them so they’re off to a good start! I hopefully can find homes for them as well!

Thank you so much! Everyone here has helped me relax a little!

Mama Wolf, Balto, and one of her slings enjoying the tree in their enclosure. She is the whole reason I got into the hobby. I caught my cat chasing & tormenting her in our bedroom and I put her in a capture cup & I immediately fell in love lol I did a bunch of research, and I wanted to finally give the hobby a try cause I had always wanted to! When I scooped her up I noticed she only had 7 legs and I’m not sure it will grow back, but I knew right away she’s definitely something special. We have a great relationship so far & she’s helping me learn new things every day! Thank you everyone for your helpful comments!! I’ll be keeping this thread updated!

Welcome to AB! And congrats on your unexpected sac . You look like you are doing just fine with how you have them set up in the incubator, just keep doing what you are doing and they should get to EWL (eggs with legs) stage and then beyond. You're not going to want to separate them though until they are fully molted to 2i(2nd true instar), where you can also begin to feed them.

Just make sure if youre interested in selling here on AB that you only mention any specifics about selling in the classifieds section! Thats the only place its allowed.

For slings after they are seperated at 2i your best bet is going to be small condiment cups such as 2oz are what most of us use. moist substrate and thats all they really need at this stage.

Yes, I was reading into the classifieds section & the guidelines today!! So I for sure will be using that!! And thank you so much for the support!! I’m trying to continue doing as much research as possibly available so I can give them all the best care! I’m still waiting for mama T (Tito is her name) to molt, and I’m working on building a good relationship with her cause she’s still a juvenile and is still in her skittish stage. Plus she’s (assumably) a WCT from PetSmart that was in a shared enclosure area with another T and a scorpion and she was stuffed into a tiny travel enclosure. So she’s been through it lol I’ll attach a photo of the enclosure she came in vs the first enclosure I got for her. I had to order a new one with a different top because I didn’t know at first that a metal mesh top is potentially dangerous, and she was starting to crawl around on it, and tried escaping lmaooo and it was allowing too much humidity in. She’s much happier in the acrylic one I got instead, and she has way more substrate to work with. Thank you so much for this warm welcome! This forum and this amazing community has helped me soooooo much!!
