Hey guys, it looks like I'm in the fortunate position to be visiting Cuba in the next few weeks, and will hopefully get a few chances to observe the local fauna. I'm a scorpion fan, but not too knowledgeable about those found in Cuba - what can I expect to find? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

in cuba the most common sp. is Rhopalurus junceus from what i hear.
but there are these in cuba as well just to name a few.

Centruroides arctimanus
Centruroides anchorellus
Centruroides baracoae
Centruroides gracilis
Centruroides guanensis
Centruroides margaritatus
Isometrus maculatus

they have a few centipedes as well but i am not sure what they are

well good luck when you do go and be carefull if you find scorps.

You need to contact Rolando Teruel Ochoa...I forget what his screen name on here is...He is a scorp guy in Cuba...Great guy...Tons of scorp knowledge.

He is with the Museo de Historia Natural in Santiago de Cuba and works BIOECO (Centro Oriental de Ecosistemas y Biodiversidad).
