I wish we had cool schtuff like that just walkin around here in MI. I'll trade you a fox squirrel, raccoon, porcupine, or some other lil fuzzie of your choice for an amphibian friend.


EDIT--- I'm kidding about that, you can catch your own lil fuzzy friends. I am seriously jealous though. I need to move somewhere cooler.

See, I love where I live, and it's "cool" in the temperature sense.... but I don't have neato stuff wandering around that I can capture and bring into my collection.

I've got tasty critters to hunt though.

And before any might consider flaming, I don't trophy hunt. I hunt to substitute any and all meat that I might otherwise buy at the store. I eat what I hunt.

Wow! nice catch!

I wish it was warm enough here for amphibians like that to become "pests". The only invasive herp species we've got on Vancouver island is the European Wall Lizard (Podarcis Muralis).

yeah but it gets old watching green tree frogs getting zapped, my pond was literally choked with them until I thinned them out. One of the funniest things Ive seen was a raccoon walking around my pond and squishing the male tree frogs that were waiting to boink a female. she would go around grab em and rip em, they are not edible to most things so the raccoon would just kill em.

one time i saw a raccoon eating lobster out of my garbage
it was the only time we ever saw it
he had good taste
i chased him every time i saw him
but made sure not to get to close or hed eat my tree frogs!!!

I love cuban tree frogs!! They get pretty good size. The boys also will have a throat pouch. Likely will have different toe pads as well I'm not sure on that one though. Don't touch 'em and accidentally rub your eyes. Found that one out the hard way. Caught one and about half hour later went to wipe sweat from me face, didn;t even think about it. Burns a little.
