Hey everyone!

I figured that we could create a potential pinned thread here on a very popular group of aquatic inverts- crayfish! I myself do not have any experience with them, but I figure this would be a good place for members to contribute information on them!

If everyone thinks this is a good idea, I can create similar threads for hermit crabs, triops, and other popular aquatic inverts!

I love crayfish. Unfortunately almost all of them are illegal for me to keep in Wisconsin. I wouldn't mind looking at pictures though so all of you who are keeping them help a buddy get his cray fix.

Before I knew they were illegal I had a huge blue and purple and yellow species named Ebirah.

crayfish are great all around as pets/ bass bait/ gumbo/ or just a big pot of them for eating and breed easily in good conditions

I've had a few through the years. Very fun to keep. Definitely keep your tank covered because they will escape.

We kept a few way back in the day. Ate everything in the tank week 1. Very cool creatures

Crayfish are awesome! The white one was my last cray, Scrooge, who lived in a 40 gallon and was an absolute beast. He was a white procambarus clarkii. The red one is my current cray, Crayola, who is a cambarellus patzcuarensis or cpo. I have a detailed guide on how to treat shell rot I could post if people are interested. Very nice crays! I think that shell rot guide would be pretty useful if you don't mind posting it
