Coremiocnemis sp "Blue"

Just recieved this little female today. She is about 3". The seller told me he recieved it as sp "Blue". He said it is not brachyramosa. I cant really find anything on very many of these species. Has the name been changed? Or is it possibly a more rare one? Thanks.

The spiders sold in the past as Coremiocnemis sp."Blue" should now be Psednocnemis brachyramosa.
The spider in your photo doesn't appear to be P.brachyramosa tho...

Chris i was hoping you would chime in. Well that kinda sucks. I have no idea what it could be. Do you think its in the Coremiocnemis genus?

It doesn't seem to have the big bushy back legs that are characteristic of this genus.To me it almost reminds me more of a Chilobrachys species but I cannot say for certain from photos alone sorry man!

Ok thanks Chris. Hopefully someone will have a clue. Alot of these asian tarantulas are hard to tell apart.

A young Psednocnemis davidgohi? A longshot, I know. But that's the only other Coremiocnemis (almost ) that I can think off that's similar to brachyramosa

Beautiful specimen! Exactly the reason why I want one of those. Just to verify: These don't get bigger than 4", correct? They are kinda hard to find over here...

Possibly. Im going to look through the Chilobrachy genus pics this weekend and see what i can come up with. Hopefully she molts soon and some coloring comes in better.

Yeah, not much bigger I don't think. I have a 3.5" female with an eggsack

Hi guys,
Thanks for showing me John. NO, this isn't Psednocnemis brachyramosa, it would show much more blue if it was that species. And mature specimens are lucky to make 4". It is possible it fits the new genus Psednsocnemis (and may even be P.jeremyhuffi, I could confirm that with solid collection data), but there are another group of spiders in W.Malaysia that we are currently working on, and this may fit that group. They look very similar to Psednocnemis, except the truth is they are not so closely related. I'd love to elaborate, but you'll get a chance to read about it in our upcoming work that cleans up Selenocosmia
