cool spiders

hi all,
I was wondering can anyone tell me any spiders that are colorful that arent too expensive or too aggressive as i would like to add on to my small collection but im looking for color...i have a rosie and a pink toe..need a good center piece or what they call an eye catcher....thank you Ryan

You may want to try:
A. versicolor- Antilles Pink toe
C. cyanopubescens- Green Bottle Blue
P. regalis- Indian ornamental
These are just a few..

I'd say C. cyanopubescens (green bottle blue), C. fasciatum (tiger rump), or one of the pretty Brachys. My own current centerpiece is a Brachypelma boehmi.

The problem is they are very expensive!

i'd say a P.murinus orange and adorable, if you can handle more agressive spiders and an H.lividum metallic blue and creamy white...colors vary.. they go from the 20's to the 30's in pricing.. Costa rican zebra's are not colorful but they have their own distinct attractive qualities... They are also very cheap and hardy with beauitful zebra stripings on the legs and a black abdomen and carapace.


P.ornata, very cheap for a pokie but very strong venom... Not deadly just painful!

like earlier posts i think i would go with the Green Bottle Blue, Tigerrump, or Usambara.

the P. regalis is a beautiful T, and altho it is not that expensive, the pokies r unbelievably fast and have got some bad venom from what ive heard.

Personally I would go with the GBB

If its going to be your center piece then spending a few more bucks shouldn't be a problem.

My fave. is the GGB. Ever changing colors, and snow white webbing. Its hard to beat.

Why not buy a plastic one!
they are very docile and available in maaaaany colors!

Get a Versicolor if you can. They are beautiful! We have a sling that molted about a week ago and it is stunning. Watching it grow up is like watching a rainbow, it's always a different color after molts.

Personally, I would go with a Green Bottle Blue, just because ease of care, all of the tarantulas mentioned are great spiders. Another thought would be an Acanthoscurria geniculata nice looking spider and big! Good luck with whatever tarantula you choose!!
