I looked for posts on this before, didn't find anything. Has anyone tried cooked (organic) beets as a millipede food item? I figure they're kind of sweet, like a fruit.

Is there a reason they'd need to be cooked? That sounds like it might be messier than raw beets. Root vegetables certainly aren't out of the question for pedes, since some species like carrots.

Beets are a nightshade and could be toxic and are most toxic in the leaf and stems .

As far as I know, beets are not in the nightshade family. They are Amaranthaceae.
You are correct , for some reason they are on my toxic list under nightshade and I just looked it up again and found they are not , thank you for the correction and my apologies for the mis info .

I just happened to have some cooked beets on hand, so I thought I'd ask. : )
