Are cockroaches bothered by black or red lights? I use red lights to see what my spiders are up to at night. My roaches hide most of the day so I was wondering if there was any way I could view their night time activities.

Supposedly tarantulas can't see that part of the light spectrum (red or black lights) so they don't know it's on and they will go about their nighttime business. I was wondering if roaches were the same way. I guess I'll just have to try it and find out. Will let you know what happens. :)

Actually, i have noticed that cockroaches are very light sensitive, i guess i am just lucky to be viewing their activities.

I'm not sure that they can't see red or other specific colours, but what I'm sure about is that lower light levels won't freak them out as much as bright light.
