Cockroach breeding/ population control

Hi all. This is probably a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway. If I was to make a mixed sex roach tank. Would they just continue to breed and breed until the tank is overwhelmed with thousands of roaches? Or would they eventually stop breeding in response to less space (I'd always be providing plenty of food) Or would they continue but breed but many nymphs would start dying from lack of space? My roaches are pets btw so I wouldn't be thinning the population for reptile food. In short; is it cruel for me to let a roach tank breed freely? Should I just continue to separate sexes? Thanks for the help!

sometimes when my colonies would get a little out of hand I could cull a percentage of them in the freezer. I never needed super large colonies so sometime you have to do what is right and put a percentage of them down when they start to get out of hand, because given the right conditions they will just endlessly breed. at least IME mine would breed regardless of how much space they had.

Ok cool. I guess continuing to separate sexes is the best way forward for me in that case. Thanks.

You could just feed them off, although dominoes take a while to hatch from their ooths and even longer to reach adulthood

I've never bred those just dubia. When my colony would get too big id take most of the males to a local pet store and they could feed their pets with them. Since they are your pets I'd just separate males from females quickly so you control the breed speed.
