Cloud (my curly hair tarantula) just started hiding in the corner

hello! I have a curly hair tarantula and we do not bother them (dont know the sex) other than feeding and giving water AND WE DO NOT handle them though we did feed them yesterday and they ate just fine ??? are they seeking out moisture maybe or are they stressed or in pre molt ??? 1000035656.jpg

Digging to seek out moisture is an astute observation and my guess too!

Don't handle though, that's bad for them.

The top layer is too dry, it looks like it's seeking for some moisture.

I'd give a light mist to that enclosure to balance that soil a bit.

will do ! thank you for advice i do catch them in their water dish occasionally aswell,,
A pleasure! Hoovering a water dish frequently also denotes that the conditions are too dry.


If you accept a suggestion, get a nice topsoil bag, peat and clay based one. It will hold the moisture better and it will spread it more evenly. The coco fiber it's quite inefficient spreading the moisture evenly, as it creates too many air pokets, which acts like an insulator.
