Climbing

My Emperor Scorpion is always trying to climb things. It climbs the cord to the heat mat in its cage and I was thinking about getting it something it can climb more safely like this http://www.petdiscounters.com/c284/Hermit-Crab-Climbing-Background-p2112.html
I was thinks about putting some of that on the back of its tank so it will stop climbing the cord. I have a good lid on its tank so it can't escape.

I was always under the impression that heat pads went under the tank...not in it???:wall:

Also, is it covered with substrate?

I'd advise against it. Emps are to heavy to actually climb anything altogh that doesnt really stop them. They are realyy good climbers but putting in more obstacles for them should suffice. Try a few pieces of wood at different angles thats what i do.

ya its substrate is potting soil and peat moss. The heat mat I have is one thats made to go on the inside of the cage above the substrate this is what I use. http://www.flukerfarms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=91

it said inside or outside of the terranium so try putting it on the outside so it can't get on to the wire and put like a log not something going straight up because if they fall something bad might happen
