Just out of curiosity.......who on earth on AB told you to worry about specific humidity numbers? Most seasoned posters on here know better.

I'm not sure if anyone on here said anything about humidity, but a FB group did. I trust here more though, which is why i came to double check.

Id also put a cork slab in as a hide, so the spider feels more secure.

vent looks good, but you dont need that much substrate. i only use like a inch. moss is unneeded, its good for extra humidity but Avics dont really need that. a cork slab or hunk of driftwood leaning against one of the sides would be a good addition, along with a lot more plastic plants around said cork bark, those sticks look pretty skinny, i dont think a avic can comfortably hide behind them.

the moss is only there for aesthetics.

For the love of god, please stop going there to learn things...i see FB as no different that pet store advice...pure garbage....here, where the REAL info is, info is very consistent and accurrate....and comes directly from people actively keeping and breeding. Ignore anyone or anything telling you that your t requires some number specific humidity...this is nothing more than evidence that the person is talking out their backside, regurgitating crap care sheet info that will eventually lead to a "my dead avic" thread.

Cork is nice, bit its far from the only option. I exclusively use drift wood i collect from lake shores...looks great amd its always free.

The new enclosure still looks too big for a sling. A 16 or 32oz deli cup is a far superior vessel for raising your sling
..and again, its basically gonna be free.

Back to the initial set up, when you get back to it, the wood should extend to or very near the top....what you have would likely be ignored in favor of one of the top corners. Same for a sling, the wood should reach the top, and the mid to top parts of the wood should be surrounded by plants....not only for anchor points, but for cover as well...open places are places of avoidance for a t, especially an avic.

FB has more misinformation than real information. Crapbook is just that, crap. Good for pictures, that's it. Better off here.

For now that new container will be fine until you can put a few more plants in there. Plastic plants are fine for anchor points.

well as it turns out, I'm terrified to rehouse her, tried to let her crawl into her new house, she wasn't into it, decided to run on top of the exo terra. So i put the lid in front of her, she got onto that, did her threat posture, so i put her back into the exo terra. [NOTE: this is my husband's T. I just find her interesting and try to help take care of her while he is at work, and i ask questions for him on here since he doesn't have the time to be on AB.] So her new home will be waiting until he gets off of work

For now. Container is still a lityle big, but at 2" it shouldnt have an issue. I assumed it was a smaller sling, 2" is closer to a juvie imo....im assuming it has adult colors then....this is good, because it will be a little more forgiving to little mistakes we often need to make to improve our techniques.

Use tools to move it to a catch cup, then into the new one....just move deliverately and calmly. Avics are pretty darn easy to deal with....it just takes a little experience to get past the "yips" many have under duress.

The idiot that invented the humidity numbers % myth and the crappy care sheet with all of that "repertorio", including garbage LPS devices to put inside for checking temps/humidity, huge cages for slings etc deserve a statue as the "ultimate Troll" when it comes to T's.

I'm pretty sure most of it is just copy and pasted from reptile care sheets. Then other t care sheets copy the ones that copied...

Having specific numbers for temp and humidity sells lots of expensive add ons with your purchased t....this is the reason you see it on care sheets...its a pure sales tactic, all about the money gained and nothing to do with the betterment of your new pet....in fact its to your new pets detriment.

Best to get info from people that care about the animals, not people that care how fat your wallet is....another example of greed, nothing more, nothing less.

Pet stores dont want you to know that an entire excellent set up costs easily less than $10, as they want you to spend an extra $1-200...misinformation makes selling ts much much more profitable.
