Hi, I got a couple small, normal clay pots from a home depot and was wondering if I could use these in arachnid/centipede enclosures for mating and hiding purposes. I already threw them to the ground and collected big pieces, mashing down the sharp edges. I will wash them. Just wanted to check in to be sure.
Thanks,
TBH

I had a terrecotta pot in my emp's tank, and it was great at first. But after a while I think it kind of acted like a filter for some stuff in the substrate. It started to turn black. I think this was from some coco dust kind of absorbed into it and it couldnt evaporate so it turned the pot blackish in some spots. Also I noticed it started to mold a little bit in some spots. So I took it out and threw it away.

that's weird about the mold, selket.

but yes, clay pots work great. even for big Ts, half buried in the sub, half out. good burrowing for scorps too.
