Cicada and kids

We have a couple of molting pics which I can't find right now. When I was a kid I used to tie a piece of thread behind the wings and let them fly. They would fly off and we would control them with the thread. They are crop killers though. In Florida, and I'm sure in other parts of the country, we have a wasp called the Cicada killer.
