Chinese Swimming Scorpions

I just bought 2 of these Chinese Swimming Scorpions and have found conflicting substrate arrangments and temp/humity settings on the web. I have only kept Buthids and am straying to new ground here. Anyone have any that gave give me some advice on the best set-up for 2 of them. I have a 10 gallon tank. I thought I was set to go, but now that I have seen something saying more humidity I need to ask.

Also, how big to they get?

If you're talking about lychas mucronatus they are not getting very big, around 5-6 cm maximum.

You can keep the at mixed sand and soil (majority being soil) and pretty humid.
They love to climb and spend 99% of their time under barks so give them plenty.
You can place a heat source on one side of the tank in order to have a hot and a less hot enviroment for them to choose.
Humidity this way will be more in the less hot side and less in the hot side.
A 10 gallon tank I think it's waaaaay to big for a pair...you'll hardly ever see them (do not knowe if this is good or bad though).

By the way they never swimm

I have a smaller 2 gallon tank I can use for them. Should I use the false bottom with gravel below the substrate for humidity or will misting be enough.

spray heavily once a week and let the water disch overflow

you lucky dog, if you mean Lychas, they do not get very big, they are slightly smaller than M. martensii (for reference).
BTW, Lychas IS a buthid.

Thanks for the note. I was just looking at scorpion websites and found these for sale and had interest in some types that climb on things.

This is the first type of scorp i've bought or collected without doing tons of research first. I figured I have kept scorps nearly my whole life and could adapt to keeping these. They are pretty scorpions. I wil post some pics when I notice one in a photogenic position.

Ok I'll bite...How exactly does one aquire an egyptian mummy to sell in the first place?

I can think of only one museum in town it could have been, our museum of world treasures. I guess i should say thanx for the mummy!

I was out of town for the weekend. I work in Egypt as an Egyptologist and I also sell antiquities. A found a mummy in an old collection and sold it to the museum, which is a much better place for it. It is a fun line of work. The scorpions in Egypt are great too!
