I recently picked up a C. huahini juvenile (roughly 1.5 in DLS) and read care information beforehand, but in reality there doesn't seem to be much detailed, thorough information available on this species in particular. This is my 11th tarantula and I already have 2 OW species, but this is my first Asian terrestrial/ fossorial. What have been your experiences keeping this or similar species in the genus, and what would you suggest? Thanks.

I keep my Asian terrestrials/fossorials the same way. Medium to deep, moist substrate, with lots of cross ventilation. I use vermiculite in my substrate mixture and always overfill the waterdish so that there is a layer of moisture on the bottom of the substrate. You are gonna have fun with this one, Chilobrachys are a blast!

Deep moist sub, some webbing structures if you like...this is a very hardy species. Pretty nasty too but that goes for all chilos.

Deep/moist substrate, hide/starter burrow, anchor points outside the hide/burrow entrance (for future reference, all Asian fossorials basically have the same care requirements).

They like to dig, they're ridiculously fast and even more ridiculously angry. I had a fun (read "anxiety inducing") incident that involved chasing a subadult female around my bedroom* during a rehouse.

*Doing rehouses in the bathroom isn't a viable option for me, because someone will say it lel.
