hi marcelo,
yeah, i am concerned about that and will look into it (heat from the lamp). that said, the cham can get away from it, if it chooses to, but i'll make sure it doesn't exceed a certain temp.

as far as humidity goes, my room is naturally warm and dry, due to central heating, so i mist the plants several times a day (I added a small draceania today).

i took some pics of my cham just moments ago, so when i can get on my PC -working from a laptop right now- i'll upload them to my scorp site and link them from here.

thanks for all the help!

i'll look into it. somebody experienced with them recommended it to me, otherwise i wouldn't have chose it. plus, i could have the spelling wrong. i'll get back with you on it over the next day or so. he is currently sleeping in his pothos, which is currently much higher than the other plant, so he hasn't been near it yet. thanks for the heads up in anycase, marcelo!

Charlie looks like he's already getting some color. Ha, that's a good picture. I think I will get one or two. Easy enough to take care of. I missed the one I gave to my nephew. I tied a cup to the trunk with a twisty. I just put his food in there (I read about doing that). He would come down and eat. I never could get him to drink from one of those bottles with the ball valve you get at the pet stores but my nephew did. I may post of pic of an idea I had for those sunnier days in Scot., if there is such a thing.

edit: Well I just took a pic. Something like this. Black is not a good color though. Gets too hot. that tub only cost $14. Or you could cut the bottom out and slip it over a small tree. Ah, I don't know. Just some ideas for anybody out there. It would keep it from getting out if climbed down and you weren't watching. That trees a little scrappy. Waiting for big new leaves.

Awww, he's cute! That plant looks like a phylodendron. Perfectly fine plant if it is. It's what I use because of the broad leaves, easy to lap up water from.

Marcelo, you said chams eat fruit. All of them or just veiled? I have a panther and a Jackson's. Do they eat fruit too? I never heard that. LMK In the meantime, off to google I go....

Yes veiled and panthers, I do know if jackson´s too. I do sometimes feed them with fruits when I ran out of insects. Also There is one serious Chameleons breeder I know that puts its chameleons on mango trees, and the chams eat directly from the tree.

When I feed them with fruits I give them little chunks of mango pieces and grapes, cut the grapes in haves and peel them. also you can train them to drink directly from the water containers, like dogs. but i prefer to put the water drip system directly over my plant, the water drops will land on the pot and the pot is over a tray which keeps the weater, then i just drain it every two days or so.

You wont believe, chams are magnificent creatures, you can guess its mood by the colors they display, darker or brighter when angry or when they see other cham near by.

sorry about my lack of vocabulary whats "LMK" I supposed is related to the link

LMK is let me know, I usually precede it by p=please. mmmm=mango! I'll try it! My panther is so mellow and tame, he usually doesn't display, however his resting color is a beautiful turquoise. He is still young, so he doesn't have his adult colors in yet. He was born last October. My jacksons is full grown, about two years old, also very tame--bright green with a lot of blue in him too. He only gets angry if I accidently spray him with water. He doesn't like that.

Nice...

Jacksons are more demanding to take care than most of the rest, but they are GREAT chams too.
