Everytime I offer food to my chaco golden knee tarantula, he always eats it. Is this normal? I offer him food almost everyday and he always eats it

They eat until they are ful! Then they fast or going into premoult depending on where in moultcycle they are. The more you feed it the earlier it will go into premoult and the longer it will stay in premoult! Usally

Ts will eat until full, and maybe a bit more.

you dont want to inflate your T too much or you can get risks. but yeah it is normal for Ts to eat when they are fed. You might hit a stop were its fasting or in premolt, but either way NO CONCERNS GOOD DAY

You'll probably "rewarded" with a very, very long fast at some point till its moult somewhere in a distant future. :p

Why do you feed it so often? It's absolutely not necessary and could potentially put your T in harm's way if the enclosure isn't safe.
I'd feed a T that size 2-3 times a month, if at all.

But this is all talk until we've seen the T in question and its enclosure. ;)

Tarantulas are opportunistic by nature and will eat anything they can subdue whenever they find it until they either have enough reserves to see them through to their next moult or get full enough to just be able to hunker down and fast until their reserves run low enough to resume feeding.

It's your job as a keeper to try to balance this out.

My chaco is almost 4 inches already. I offer him B. lateralis roach almost everyday.
There is absolutely no need whatsoever to feed anywhere near this often, tarantulas have extremely low food requirements compared to pretty much any other animal, all you will will achieve by piling feeders into it every day is ending up with an obese tarantula (yours is already on the fat side as it is) that will fast for months on end and is at a much higher risk of dying from falls (especially if you handle regularly or have too much vertical space in its enclosure) or suffering from drag injuries.

Once a week at the absolute most is sufficient, I feed my 4" female an MM B. lateralis once a fortnight and she's not exactly skinny.

yes, but you are feeding pointlessly often.

Theres no advantage pounding food down their throats. The only thing excessive feeding will lead to is excessive fasting.

Tarantulas aren’t like mammals. I feed my 6 inch female G. pulchripes once a month and she’s still got a big butt. She hasn’t moulted since 2016 so I’m hoping she moults this year.
