Centipede?

There's no way this thing is anything but a geophilomorph centipede IMO.

Does anyone have pictures of those big ones that were sold?

@Francisco Villanueva be careful about feeding it insects, they might disturb her or damage the eggs. I doubt she'll be interested until the babies leave her, few inverts feed while guarding their offspring.

Yeah it has gotten a little strange, it's a geophilomorph. I looked for pics of the long dark ones that somebody had for sale at least a few years ago but I couldn't find them. I bet it has to do with Photobucket ruining many people's access to images.

I know you aren't referring to this centipede, but it looks like the genus could be the same (though then again, I bet most large geophilimorphs would match this look).

They are very similar and could be closely related, and I do believe V. hasei is the SA species that was being sold at one point.

It is, I saw threads from about '08 about it. I wonder if that genus stretches from Venezuela (where I assume venezuelides is from) to Mexico.

Sorry for the long delay of response. I have read through all comments and replies so far. As of now however, I am glad to say that I returned to the spot where I found this invert and found another one! This one is about the same length I'd guess but much skinnier. I took pics this time according to comments and will post more if necessary.

I took a picture of its head, tail, and body length. I put my hand for scale. A quick note, this one seems to exhibit a weird behavior. It lifts its head up constantly as it walks as if to "smell" the area around it. It lifts its head up and wiggles its antennae and then keeps walking. Its antennae don't resemble a centipedes very much however imo

Yeah the head wasn't visible in the earlier images, that's a dead giveaway its a centipede. The antennae might be stubby but they're right for a soil centipede.
