I've been in the hobby for quite some time now and have been bitten by hundreds of centipedes. I did not notice any pain scale already up on arachnoboards so I thought, why not make one. now of course this is my personal experience and others may react differently to them. and also feel free to share your experiences too
the scale will be out of 30, 1/30 being almost nothing and 30/30 being I wish I was dead and medical attention was required.
S. polymorpha (LA basin) - 5/30 mild stinging sensation
S. polymorpha (miller peak) - 7/30 definitely packed a punch and stung for some hours
S. heros arizonensis - 9/30 it hurt pretty bad but was not what I expected
E. rubripes (Australia) - 10/30 it hurt a good amount but it was gone really quick leaving a very swollen hand.
S. heros castaneiceps - 13/30 it was my first real bite and it packed a violent punch
S. subspinipes - 15/30 it was not fun and definitely deserves it's brutal reputation
E. rubripes platycephalus - 16/30 very similar to the heros castaneiceps but much more intense
E. rubripes rubripes - 18/30 at the time it was what I thought was the worst pain you could ever experience
S. heros arizonensis (madrean banded) : special case, on the face - 19/30 this one emptied everything he had in me and brought me to my knees for several hours
S. dehaani (cherry red) - 21/30 obviously this one hurt and to no surprise
S. Hardwickei - 25/30 it basically felt like your hand was in boiling oil and being slowly cut of at the same time
E. rubripes spinosus - 30/30 I spent the whole night in urgent care, not even 4 advil and heavy pain meds could lower the pain. this pede is basically the worst
