I found a bright red caterpillar covered in long curled hairs in a jungle park in Malaysia and I have had no luck at all trying to find it online. It was about 5 in (13 cm) long and about 1.5 in diameter with the hair (the hair was so thick I could not see the actual body). The guide said it was very poisonous, but they say that about lots of things to make it feel like more of an adventure. I had a good picture that unfortunately existed only on a hard drive that was stolen last summer. I'm attaching a picture of an unknown caterpillar just for comparison. The hair on the one I saw was similar in style, just thicker and a brilliant orange-red. A family name for the one in the picture might also be helpful as a starting point.
Thanks guys.
