Okay so, In full disclosure and risk of showing just how inept I was at searching... he found her about 8-9 inches from where she fell on a low shelf hiding under trash bag boxes... perfectly fine, just sitting there. Lol

Not being a keeper yourself and thus not as aware of their habits, nobody would expect you to have known where to look. The fact that you made an effort and came here for tips is wonderful. Don't beat yourself up. My wife, for example, would likely have responded by sealing off the room (rolled towels and duct tape would probably be involved).

Now that you found it. I encourage you to get your first sling and become a member of the hobby. You will learn to love it. I didn’t even like spiders until I got my first Tarantula. Now, it is my main hobby.

So glad she was recovered safely!

I’m not particularly fond of it at all, but he loves it & that’s what matters, so it lives here lol
And now that you've gotten emotionally invested in her - by spending the day looking for her, worrying about her, asking for advice, and feeling relieved/happy at her safe return - you may discover that the positive energies carry forward. You might even discover that you start liking her a bit! ;)

Congrats on finding her! You got lucky. That's really wonderful!

Please do thoroughly check your cat immediately. Urticating setae in either the eyes or respiratory tract are medical emergencies for cats. If you have any reason to suspect she's been haired in the eyes (or breathed hairs), please take her to an emergency vet right away.

Please do also secure/pet-proof your enclosures. Always expect your pets, especially cats, to try to tamper with enclosures and thier inhabitants, if they can. They'll go after feeders, too. The safest place is behind a cat-proof door (bedroom door, closet door, cabinet door, many options). It seems obvious to say, but you'd be amazed how many people don't secure their enclosures after an accident like this. So I had to say it.

Again I'm glad you found her unharmed, yay for happy endings!
