Recently I picked up what was called an Arizona Red Rump, only to find out it was anything but. I have found out that I actually have a Carlsbad Green tarantula. I was just curious if anyone has any information on this tarantula? As in cost, rarity, or any general info would be appreciated!

The TKG says it's an Aphonopelma species. Do you have a photo to post of it ?

+1, a picture would be nice. These two species look very different from one another, so I'm wondering how they were mixed up in the first place, unless you bought a sling/juvenile?

Here's two pics, you can't really see it too well but there is a blueish color to him. First photo is with flash, second is without.

Is it me or does this species have some HUGE chelicerae?
They do! They are flipping cool! Unfortunately the photo I posted of my female died four days later after molting. The photo was taken today she passed away two days ago. I do have other females and one immature male though.

Very Beautiful! Thanks for posting pic. I've never seen one for sale this size, so I really don't know 'value' ect......My guess would be it's the same as other T's, females costing more than males do. There are some for sale from a breeder in California right now called "Scott's Tarantulas" , Although I have never ordered from this particular site and cannot offer any word of it's 'reputability', the website shows them selling 3/4" Aphonopelma sp. - "Carlsbad Green's" for $12.00
Gorgeous spider! Enjoy!

EDIT: OOOPPS, Nevermind. That website is only selling t-shirts now and directs you to Ken the Bug Guy.

Sorry about that everyone :(
