I brought home a tarantula and rehoused it. The shop I had gotten the spider from uses discoid roaches as feeders, and I found a live individual underneath all the substrate and webbing.
At first I thought to just give the roach to one of my other tarantulas, but decided against it. I am keeping it as a pet now. I put it in a container with ventilation, some moist substrate and a cork bark piece to hide in. I gave it a small bottle cap water dish and some strawberry to munch on. It already went and burrowed beneath the cork bark.
Thing is, I'm not too familiar with discoid roach care. Or roaches in general. I just sort if winged it with the little knowledge that I do have.
I don't know the exact size, but it fits in a water bottle cap. Quite small. Maybe around a half inch or 3/4"?
I'd appreciate any advice on how to give this discoid the best possible care.
