I just pulled my Caribena versicolor egg sac. I believe it was around 32 days when I pulled it and when I opened it they were EWLs. I took a close up video of them to get a better look at them and noticed very tiny creatures of some sort moving around. Could these be some sort of mites? Maybe grain mites? Can they pose a threat to spiderlings? I circled the small creature for reference in the picture.

At first glance it does remind me of mites.

if you have some magnifieing glass, you should get a better view.

Do I need to be concerned if they are mites? I know I have occasionally seen the smallest white specs on my enclosures, that’s why I am thinking grain mites.

Normally mites aren't an issue, but EWLs are especially soft and vulnerable, I would be concerned personally.

Ok thank you for the reply. I will see if I can rehouse them in a new deli cup/coffee filter to see if I can eliminate them. Thanks for the response. I wonder if I can put a really small piece of potato in the sling pot for an hour before I rehouse them to try to draw the mites away from the EWLs?

A plastic spoon will be your best friend in this situation. Gently lift the EWL's to the new filter and inspect for mites.
